Bank transfer betting sites let Nepali players fund a betting site or betting app from a bank account instead of a wallet. Only two of the eight offshore betting sites we checked list it: Melbet and Crickex. Most sites rely on eSewa and Khalti instead.

Bank accounts carry the highest traceability of any method. Nepal Rastra Bank has warned it will freeze accounts used for betting. Betting itself has been illegal in Nepal since March 2026.

Melbet

Melbet is a betting site that lists Nepali bank transfer next to eSewa and Khalti. Our cricket bet at Melbet lost, so we have no withdrawal result. 80% of Melbet’s 1,420 Trustpilot reviews are 1-star (October 2026). Negative reviews describe withdrawals marked “paid” that never arrived.

Crickex

Crickex is a betting site that lists local transfer and eSewa, but not Khalti. Our cricket bet at Crickex lost. Players report withdrawals rejected for “suspicious bets” after a win. Some Crickex domains carry scam warnings.

ConnectIPS vs Mobile Banking vs Wire

A “local transfer” at an offshore betting site means a payment to a Nepali account. Police cases show such accounts held by individuals, not by bookmakers.

Limits Set by Nepal Rastra Bank

NRB tightened card limits in November 2025. Debit cards now allow NPR 20,000 per transaction and NPR 50,000 per day. Prepaid cards allow NPR 10,000 per transaction and NPR 200,000 per month. International payments need a prepaid dollar card, capped at USD 500 per year — our Visa and Mastercard guide covers that route.

Those caps limit how much a player can send to a betting site through a bank in one day. Large deposits need several transfers, and each one leaves a record.

Why Banks Freeze Betting-Linked Accounts

NRB has instructed licensed institutions to block payments to betting sites. It has warned that accounts used for betting will be suspended. Police also trace betting money through bank records.

In April 2024, police arrested three men in a 1xBet case. They had opened 98 bank accounts and 21 ConnectIPS accounts. The accounts processed Rs 574.1 million. In 2023, another operator ran 1xBet money through 63 accounts opened in other people’s names.

Accounts in other people’s names do not shield anyone. They spread the legal risk to everyone whose name is on the account.
